“ 2010 MX SERIES RULES AND ENTHUSIAST MEMBER
RULES”
1: MX series: There will be a 10 round series for 2010. The schedule
will include 9 rounds with two scheduled motos per class, and one round with
one moto being one hour in length. This totals 19 scheduled motos for the
season. Weather permitting, all rounds will be completed. Rain dates have been
scheduled where permitted. Your best 15 motos count for the championship. The
four remaining motos are considered throwaways. In the event that not all
rounds are completed, the number of motos counting for the championship will be
adjusted. The throwaways allow riders the opportunity to flag by their
assigned dates and not miss out on a race.
2: RULES FOR ALL MEMBERS: This is a club that everyone belongs to. We
are not Promoters, We are an organized club that holds Motocross races for Club
members only. Keeping that in mind, here are the responsibilities of a Club
member.
a. MX series Members: Each rider will be responsible
for a designated work day at a competition event. Each rider will select 3
choices of events to work, if none of these dates are open the first available
event will be assigned to them. You may have a representative flag for you
(knowledge of racing and how to flag should be considered). If a rider misses
their workday, a rider’s season will be considered completed and not permitted
to race the balance of the season. There will be a $200.00 Fine on top of their
membership for 2011 for each member not completing their workday. Parents
are welcome to help out at any level. They may also be a substitute for their
child, for an official workday. All Flaggers must be a minimum of 14 years old.
PW rider parents or representatives will be assigned 4 rounds to flag (only PW
races). This will constitute a workday for the PW rider only. If a round is
missed, the same penalty applies as above.
b. Enthusiast Members: all members must complete a
workday during the season. This may consist of volunteering at any club event,
competition or non-competition, or volunteering of time in some other form. If
you have other suggestions or ideas please feel free to share them with us. If
the workday is not completed by the end of the year a $200.00 Fine will be added
on top of their membership for 2011.
Note: Workdays includes ALL members. Family membership includes ALL
members listed on the membership and must complete a workday. Failure to
complete your workday 2 years
in a row will result in NO RENEWAL.
3: Trophies:
Trophy Format: There are no Daily Trophies for the MX
series. We will award 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each class at the Awards Banquet
at the end of the season. There must be at least 3 riders per class to qualify
for the trophies.
All riders who start in at least 8 out of 10 of the scheduled

2010 MX Season for full details.
8: Mandatory Riders Meeting:
There will be a 5 rider random role call.
If you are not present you DO NOT RIDE.
9: Numbers:
Please
ensure you have proper number plates and numbers for 2010. Club races may at
times combine different classes. It is necessary to assign race numbers so we do
not have duplications. Numbers allocated in 2009 will remain with the rider
for 2010. If you are a new member, please request a number when you join
this year. We will advise you from a Master List what numbers are available.
Black tape will not be allowed. If you do not put permanent number plates on
your bike, you will not be scored, as it is hard for lap scorers to make out
homemade numbers.
10: Scoring: 1st-
25pts, 2nd-23pts 3rd—22pts, 4th-21pts,
decreasing by 1 point respectively, down to 5pts for 20th position. 21st and
after will receive 1 point if they start the race. This will be per moto.
Total for the day will be both moto results added together.
11: Penalties: a. If a rider leaves the track and does not re-enter
safely without advancement, a 5 places minimum deduction in the race will result. The Race Official has the last word! A rider is not allowed to
switch motorcycles during a moto. If that rider needs to use another motorcycle
for the next moto, he/she must get permission from the Official first.
b.
Rough and/ or Dangerous Riding as deemed by SCR.
1st offence-
verbal warning and possible placement deduction.
2nd offence-
written warning, and loss of points for the event.
3rd offence-loss of points in the series and a suspension from racing,
up to and possibly including the entire season plus a possible no renewal of
membership.
c. There is to be NO Alcohol or drugs consumed by a rider or his
pit crew/friend/family during the course of the event. There is also NO Alcohol
or drugs to be consumed by anyone on an open practice day. Penalty may be
temporary and/or permanent suspension. Repeat offences will result in no renewal
of membership.
d. Abuse of Officials or scorekeepers and or any member, verbal or
physical may result in a loss of points, race suspension, membership suspension
up to and including permanent with no renewal.
e. The Club property is for the USE of SCR Club Members only,
no member is allowed to bring a non-member to the property to ride. This may
result in suspension for the member up to and including permanent.
12: Open practice days:
Direction and layout of track is determined by
the First riders at the track on any given day. All riders after that point must
follow the riders already there to get orientated with the layout. Never ride in
the opposite direction or put in short cuts if someone else has set up the
track. Safety is the responsibility of all riders at the track, blind jumps
should only be used if you have someone acting as a flag person or the blind
jump should be rolled over with caution. If this becomes a problem then the
blind jumps will be removed for open practice days!
Do not ride alone always ride with a buddy.
13:
Track maintenance: If there is a piece of equipment working on the
track a rider must get permission from the operator first, and what area that
the rider will be allowed to practice on.
The Officials and/or Board of Directors retain the right to
determine the infraction of rules and the penalty to be invoked.
Please remember our racing is for “FUN”! All people working are
volunteers and we try to do our Best to make it Fun for all. We don’t have a lot
of Rules; please respect the ones we do have! If you have any questions on any
of the above items, come out to a Club meeting, or give one of us a call.
If you have any questions, please contact any member of the Board
of Directors.
